Semester 1 Reflection

Quality of Work:
I believe my the quality of my work for the first semester was a little below what was required, and doesn't represent my full potential. On the quality of concepts, its kind of hard to determine since I usually skip the planning phase and jump right into the project. In retrospect it will probably be a good idea to at least do some planning on all future projects. I believe all the projects I turned in were all in the correct size and resolution, so no problem there. For refining the concepts and ideas, I think I could have done more.

Effort:
On almost all of my projects, I was only able to come up with one or possibly two concepts/ideas, which may become a problem later down the line. I tend to go with the easiest possible solution in most cases to be completely honest, it tends to save time and effort, but in life it will probably not go as well for me. If I'm struggling with a concept, I usually wont give up until I've asked the teacher and spent a good amount of time checking online for help, unless i get an idea for another way to complete the project.

Participation:
Coming to Class everyday and on time has never been a problem for me, the only reason I wouldn't show up is because I'm sick or suspended. On working through out the block, when I first step into the room, I usually start working and I continue working until maybe 30 minutes in and i start to get distracted by the internet or my phone. On working independently, I personally prefer to work independently, but I always have trouble when it comes to creative things, like coming up with ideas, and when it comes to staying on track.

Improvement:
For second semester, I think the main area I need to improve is Effort and Participation. I think if I put more effort into my work, the quality of work will go up, and in turn so will my grade. I also believe I need to put a little into planning projects, maybe create a Google Doc for each project so I can write down ideas or a separate Photoshop document for experimenting with concepts. For who I am as a digital artist and where I need to improve, I believe my skills in Photoshop are at a good level, seeing how I passed the Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Photoshop CC Exams and get my certificate. But I think I will need to improve my creative side and my time management skills.
